Kinstellar advises on innovative healthcare initiative funded by the European Commission
May 2018 – Kinstellar is pleased to announce that it has served as advisor to AEGLE, an innovative project funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 that focuses on improving healthcare in Europe by utilising big data analytics and establishing a platform for medical practitioners, researchers and policymakers. AEGLE is funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 initiative, which aims to bolster European competitiveness in areas of research and innovation.
Kinstellar carried out an assessment of the current status of big data analytics and healthcare data processing in the Czech Republic in light of the changes brought by the recently implemented GDPR, which sets out the rules for handling the private data of individuals, and to what extent national specificities remain.
The team was led by Zdeněk Kučera, head of Kinstellar’s TMT and Litigation practice in Prague, and Tomáš Čihula, head of the local Life Sciences practice. Other key team members included Michal Matouš and Tereza Mašková (Junior Associates). Kinstellar cooperated on the project with Belgian law firm time.lex.
