Kinstellar appoints new Employment & Labour Law Service Line Co-Heads

June 2023 - Kinstellar is delighted to announce the appointment of Dániel Péter (Managing Associate, Budapest) and Cătălin Roman (Senior Associate, Bucharest) as Co-Heads of the firm-wide Employment & Labour law service line. Dániel and Cătălin will support Nina Tsifudina, Partner in our Sofia office and firm-wide Head of Employment & Labour law, on the development of this increasingly important service line.

Both Dániel and Cătălin bring extensive experience and a proven track record in employment law, making them well suited to lead the practice and navigate the complexities of this ever-evolving field.

Dániel Péter heads the Employment & Labour Law service line in the Budapest office.

Dániel is involved in all employment matters and is highly rated by his clients. He has over 11 years of experience advising on a wide range of employment matters, such as drafting documentation for establishing and terminating employment relationships; providing strategic advice and assistance in relation to terminations; advising on employment aspects of corporate acquisitions and disposals, including the transfer of economic units; providing advice on internal restructurings, including planning and executing collective redundancies; trade union and other collective employment law-related matters; and planning and implementing employee and management incentive schemes.

He also has significant experience in a broad range of corporate transactions, including domestic and cross-border mergers, demergers, transformations, company and group reorganisations, capital increases and reductions, company establishments and liquidations, commercial contracts, and general company law.

Dániel joined Kinstellar in 2018 as an Associate from an international law firm, where he focused on corporate restructurings and employee incentive schemes.

Cătălin Roman is a veteran with over 13 years of experience providing employment support to multinationals in Romania and advising on all aspects of labour-related matters including hiring, dismissals, redundancies, terminations related to key employees, internal policies and compliance, preparing strategies for mass layoffs, various negotiations with trade unions and for concluding collective bargaining agreements, as well as labour disputes.

Cătălin is a regular contributor to various international and local publications and often serves as a speaker at specialised conferences. His practice also covers dispute resolution matters, and he has assisted and represented clients in front of Romanian courts in a wide range of employment matters (as well as civil, administrative and restructuring).

Prior to joining Kinstellar in August last year, Cătălin was the coordinator of the employment practice at the local office of a leading German law firm.

Patrik Bolf, Firm Managing Partner, comments: ‘‘I congratulate Dániel and Cătălin on their new roles.
