During 2022 (Jan) - 2024 (Oct), the AMC imposed #fines ranging from EUR 2,000 to EUR 648,000, targeting diverse industries such as #energy, #pharmaceuticals, and #real estate. 📢 🇷🇸 We have recently hosted the ''Competition in the #CEE Region: Cross-Sector Perspectives Conference” in #Belgrade, an insightful and well-attended event, where we explored the latest trends in #competition, and #stateaid in #CEE, Western Balkans and Serbia 💼. 🔑 Key takeaways from our panel discussions: 🛒 Competition and the current trends in #FMCG: Rising food prices in Europe, including the EU and Western Balkans, are a major concern. Market players and competition authorities face challenges in identifying causes and potential antitrust issues. 💊 Competition law in life #sciences and #healthcare: #Pharmaceutical distribution models, such as direct-to-hospital (DTH) and direct-to-pharmacy (DTP), are under review. While some authorities approve these models, recommendations for adjustments continue. 🏦 Open banking: Competition and innovation in financial services: The panel discussed open banking, its regulatory frameworks in Serbia, the EU, and the UK, exploring ideas for making open banking more sustainable and successful in the future. 💡 Ensuring fair competition: State Aid and foreign subsidies: Serbia is progressing with harmonizing state aid rules with EU law, while the EU’s new Foreign Subsidies Regulation addresses distortions caused by foreign subsidies. ⚖️ Collective redress: Navigating competition law challenges: The CEE region faces challenges in implementing collective redress.
