Junior Associate or Associate, Tax – Ukraine

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Junior Associate or Associate to join our Tax team in our Kyiv office. This is an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with skilled professionals and provide top-quality advice and consultation to our premium clients.

We provide sophisticated tax advice complementing our corporate, M&A and commercial support. Evolving tax systems across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Southeast Europe (SEE) and Central Asia (CA) require expert and timely advice to maximise the bottom-line results of your business and investment decisions. Our tax practice works across the full spectrum of commercial sectors covering tax planning and structuring; international taxation; structured finance and capital markets; tax litigation; transfer pricing; VAT and other indirect taxes; domestic and cross-border M&A, finance, and real estate transactions; employment remuneration schemes.


Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough legal research, identifying business risks, and providing effective solutions;
  • Providing expert advice and consultation on tax legal matters;
  • Preparing and drafting various legal documents as required;
  • Crafting contracts, legal statements, and other documents across a range of clients and topics;
  • Collaborating effectively as a team member, sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and providing regular updates to senior team members;
  • Fulfilling other tasks as assigned by the company management.

Key skills and experience required:

  • Ukrainian degree in Law; degree in economics is a plus;
  • Additional background in finance/accounting/tax;
  • Previous practical experience of 3 years in tax practice, gained either at an international or major domestic law or audit firm;
  • Knowledge and expertise in Ukrainian accounting, IFRS and/or ACCA is a plus;
  • Controversy expertise (tax audit support/litigation) and availability of advocate certificate are an advantage;
  • Strong academic background and work ethics;
  • Full professional proficiency in Ukrainian and English;
  • Excellent multitasking abilities and a track record of meeting strict deadlines;
  • Punctuality and attention to detail;
  • Exceptional time-management, prioritization, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to handle multiple legal matters within a demanding work environment;
  • Can-do attitude, high level of integrity, and intellectual curiosity;
  • Proactive and self-starter attitude;
  • Team player with a passion for excellence.
