Senior Accountant, Tax & Finance Advisory – Romania

Job description
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Analysing completeness and correctness of financial accounting documents recording in the accounting system (purchases, sales, expense reports, bank statements, petty cash, payroll, etc.) for the clients in the portfolio;
- Verifying and/or performing month-end closing (depreciation/ revaluations/ inventories/ accruals/ provisions/ adjustments/ prepaid expenses/ deferred incomes, VAT) and reconciliations as the case may be;
- Identifying risks and accounting treatments, communicating them internally and externally to the client;
- Documenting identified risks in accordance with relevant legislation/ practice materials/ guidance;
- Participating with our team in identifying applicable accounting treatment, solutions/ scenarios for the respective accounting issues;
- Writing professional memos/ emails for our professional advice, in a coherent and professional manner;
- Correctly organising and archiving documents in accordance with current legislation and internal procedures;
- Analysing accounting balances in relation to financial accounting reports;
- Verifying and/ or preparing the required monthly/ quarterly/ annually tax returns for the clients in the portfolio;
- Verifying and/ or preparing annual/ interim/ quarterly financial statements and/ or accounting reports;
- Verifying and/ or preparing/ updating accounting reports requested by the superior/ client and/ or internal databases;
- Communicating with the client in a formal and appropriate manner, providing relevant responses promptly;
- Actively participating in team meetings;
- Constantly attending professional training courses.
Job requirements
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Accounting/ economics degree;
- Very good level of English;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience;
- Ability to organize work flow and use time efficiently;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong organisational/ self-management skills, ability to meet deadlines.
