Senior IT Project Manager – Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, or Croatia (Remote-friendly)
We are looking for a Senior IT Project Manager to drive the delivery of a firm-wide digital transformation programme at an international law firm with 500 to 1,000 professionals across 10+ offices, multiple jurisdictions, and continued growth.
The programme starts with migrating the firm’s core productivity platform to Microsoft 365: email, endpoints, Teams, Defender, and more. From there, it expands into infrastructure modernisation, financial systems, data platforms, and AI-driven document management capabilities. Every workstream runs in parallel. Every one needs a plan, a timeline, a budget, and someone holding it all together. That someone is you.
You will own the programme plan end to end: scope, timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies, governance, and stakeholder communication. You will work closely with the M365 Solutions Architect to translate technical design into actionable delivery, coordinate internal teams and external vendors, and drive adoption and change management across all offices. This is not a reporting role. This is a delivery role. You structure, you coordinate, you remove blockers, and you make sure things ship.
This is a permanent, in-house position with real programme ownership and direct influence on the firm’s technology roadmap. You will report to the Group IT Director and work alongside the M365 Solutions Architect, IT Operations Manager, COO, and external delivery partners. The pace is demanding, the scope is broad, and the expectations are high. In return: a rare professional challenge to lead an entire enterprise transformation programme, with full ownership and the trust to make it happen.
In this position you will:
- Own and drive the programme plan across all workstreams: M365 migration, infrastructure, financial systems, DMS, and AI readiness;
- Manage scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies across concurrent projects;
- Coordinate internal teams and external vendors to deliver on time and within budget;
- Establish and maintain programme governance: status reporting, steering committees, change control;
- Work closely with the M365 Solutions Architect to translate technical design into actionable delivery plans;
- Manage stakeholder communication across IT, business services, finance, and firm leadership;
- Drive adoption and change management activities across all offices;
- Identify and escalate risks and blockers early; propose mitigation strategies;
- Contribute to vendor selection, contract negotiation, and partner management;
- Support the Group IT Director in building the delivery team and developing internal IT capability.
Key skills and experience required:
- Minimum 10 years of IT project or programme management experience, with a proven track record delivering complex, multi-workstream technology programmes;
- Experience managing M365 migrations, infrastructure modernisation, or enterprise platform deployments at scale;
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (PRINCE2, Agile, or hybrid); PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is preferred;
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across geographies and time zones;
- Experience managing external vendors, system integrators, and service providers;
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership;
- Self-driven, structured, and accountable; takes ownership and delivers without waiting for direction;
- Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken); additional CEE/EMEA languages are an advantage;
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field;
- Experience in a law firm, professional services, or regulated environment is strongly valued.
