Iulian Sorescu is a Financial Advisor Partner and head of the local Financial, State Aid & Management Consulting services.
Iulian coordinates strategic advice to clients on a wide range of business and financial issues including financial advisory; financial due diligence; financial audit according to IFRS, US/German GAAP and Romanian standards; financial reporting and controlling; bookkeeping; and payroll and management consulting. He also has extensive experience helping international companies obtain state aid for both greenfield investments and expansion projects by preparing business plans and business models and providing assistance in dealings with the Romanian Ministry of Public Finances.
Iulian is also the Founder of State Aid Academy in Romania—an initiative that promotes investment opportunities and offers a wide overview of the available state aid schemes, financing opportunities, and non-reimbursable funds for investment and expansion projects in Romania.

STATE AID & GREENFIELD INVESTMENT PROJECTS
- CONTINENTAL on a microelectronics and communication technology project and assistance obtaining state aid of EUR 75 million through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) for an investment of over EUR 240 million in R&D in Timisoara made in collaboration with multiple universities from different counties.
- ACCESS GROUP on obtaining state aid of approximately EUR 17 million for creating more than 600 new workplaces in the software development industry in Timisoara, Timis County.
- SAINT-GOBAIN on obtaining state aid of approximately EUR 10.1 million for an investment of more than EUR 45 million in a new production facility in Turda, Cluj County.
- STADA ROMANIA on obtaining state aid of EUR 21 million from the Romanian government for a EUR 50 million greenfield investment in a new production facility in Turda, Cluj County.
- MINET SA on obtaining state aid of EUR 3 million from the Norway Grants for the development of nonwovens using new green technologies and hiring over 100 employees in Ramnicu Valcea.
- VRANCART RECYCLING on obtaining state aid of approximately EUR 8.5 million for an investment of approximately EUR 17 million in the recycling and waste recovery sectors in Adjud and the creation of over 160 new jobs.
- UNIVERSAL ALLOY CORPORATION on obtaining state aid of approximately EUR 37.4 million for an investment exceeding EUR 120 million in a major production facility for the aircraft industry with more than 650 employees in Maramures.
- DAIMLER on of obtaining state aid of more than EUR 37 million for a new EUR 200 million production facility with around 320 employees.
