Boryana Boteva is a Senior Counsel in the Sofia office and head of the local Projects & Infrastructure service line. She focuses on public-private partnerships, governmental projects and public procurements, corporate and M&A, project finance, international arbitration, and commercial litigation.

Boryana has advised Bulgarian public institutions on flagship projects in the infrastructure and energy sectors, including projects financed or implemented by international financial institutions, such as the World Bank, IFC, EBRD. Her experience includes the concession of the Sofia airport, the second bridge over the Danube River connecting Bulgaria and Romania, and the joint concession of the Black Sea airports Varna and Bourgas, together with projects and regulatory matters in the field of renewable energy and natural resources.

In addition, she has advised on various financings of business operations or specific projects in Bulgaria, such as corporate financings and funding from banks or international financial institutions.

Boryana has acted as sell-side and buy-side advisor to domestic and foreign corporate clients in numerous share and asset transactions, with a focus on the automotive, industrials, technology and pharmaceutical sectors.

Throughout her career, she has represented private companies and Bulgarian governmental institutions in international and domestic arbitration proceedings, and in litigations before the Bulgarian state courts (administrative, civil and commercial lawsuits).
