Andrei Salageanu is a Senior Associate in the Bucharest office focusing on dispute resolution as well as restructuring & insolvency matters.

Andrei is an experienced litigation lawyer and he has successfully represented clients from a wide range of industries, including agribusiness, IT, energy, automotive, retail and consumer products (FMCG), in numerous civil and commercial disputes before Romanian courts and in arbitral proceedings.

He also specialises in insolvency matters, assisting and representing insurance companies and financial institutions as creditors in reorganisation and bankruptcy proceedings on an ongoing basis. Andrei is also familiar with employment and labour disputes as well as real estate matters, having been frequently involved in due diligence exercises and transactions involving a significant real estate component.

• ONE OF THE LARGEST AIRCRAFT COMPONENTS MANUFACTURERS IN EUROPE on matters relating to several court cases for a total of over EUR 3 million in damages against a market-dominant electricity and gas supplier for contract default and unlawful termination
• A MAJOR DISCOUNT RETAILER on matters relating to a civil tort liability claim of over EUR 2 million against a local municipality and state-owned company for damages caused by the collapse of a store

• A MAJOR AUSTRIAN BANK on the insolvency of a Romanian agricultural company with a registered receivable of over EUR 3 million
• ONE OF THE LARGEST STEEL PRODUCTION COMPANIES IN EUROPE on the bankruptcy of two Romanian steel-producing companies with an aggregate value of more than EUR 2 million
• A WELL-KNOWN ROMANIAN ENERGY PRODUCER on matters relating to several bankruptcies, insolvency proceedings and interim claims against other market players following significant increases to local energy market prices in 2021–2022

• THE INVESTMENT COMPANY OF ONE OF THE LARGEST RETAILERS on the due diligence process relating to the acquisition of 80% of the shares in seven local wind farm companies with an aggregate value of EUR 136 million
