László Palócz is a Counsel in the Budapest office focusing on corporate and M&A.

László has in-depth experience advising on both domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. He has represented Hungarian and international investors as well as multinational corporations in landmark transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures. He has played key roles in various high-profile M&A transactions across a range of sectors, including real estate, energy and finance, advising on complex legal matters. He has managed many multijurisdictional and local due diligence processes from inception to final delivery in Hungary and abroad.

László has also been involved in company reorganisation and restructuring procedures, as well as competitive auction bidding processes.

RECENT ENGAGEMENTS INCLUDE ADVISING

M&A and Corporate

• OTP BANK on the acquisition of state-controlled Ipoteka Bank in Uzbekistan; the transaction was structured as a share deal and the transaction documents were governed by English law
• GIC on the acquisition of CETIN Group in CEE
• GLP on the Hungarian law aspects of its acquisition of Goodman Group’s Central and Eastern Europe logistics real estate portfolio, a EUR 1 billion multi-jurisdictional logistics portfolio deal
• KLÉPIERRE on the sale of four shopping and entertainment centers: Duna Plaza; Corvin Plaza; Győr Plaza; and Miskolc Plaza; the transaction was structured as a share deal
• CREANDUM on its EUR 10 million Series A round investment into Hungarian fraud-detection startup SEON Technologies, Hungary’s largest series A rounds at that time
• MVM on the acquisition of a 16 MW solar energy plant in Visonta, Hungary, a unit of Mátrai Power Plant, one of the largest solar parks in Hungary
