August 2021 – Kinstellar and Gen Temizer Özer are delighted to have supported Princeville Capital, as part of a group of high-profile investors including General Atlantic, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, and the sovereign wealth funds ADQ (UAE) and the Qatar Investment Authority, on the provision of USD 1.5 billion of new financing for Trendyol, Turkey’s largest e-commerce company.
This latest round of financing values the company at USD 16.5 billion, ranking Trendyol among the highest-valued private tech companies in Europe and creating Turkey’s first “decacorn”. This milestone follows months after Trendyol’s strategic and majority backer Alibaba invested an additional USD 350 million in the company, raising its valuation at the time to USD 9.4 billion.
Founded in 2010, Trendyol is Turkey’s largest e-commerce company, serving more than 30 million shoppers and delivering more than one million packages each day. "The funding proceeds will support Trendyol's growth both within Turkey and internationally," according to the company's founder, Demet Suzan Mutlu.
The Kinstellar / Gen Temizer Özer team was led by Partners Baran Gen and Edmund Emre Özer, supported by Associate Beliz Zorlu.
