September 2016 - Kamil Blažek, partner based in Prague and chairman of the Czech Association for Foreign Investment, was a guest presenter at a Czech Republic investment seminar focused on M&A, which was held at the Czech Embassy in Beijing on 19 September 2016 and at the Shanghai International Finance Information Centre on 21 September 2016.
Both events were attended by more than 100 participants each. In addition to Kinstellar and AFI, also present were representatives from CzechInvest, KPMG and Erste Bank/Česká spořitelna. Potential investors came from private equity, the food industry, the renewables sector, waste management and others. The general conclusion of both events is that a number of Chinese private and state companies are increasingly focusing on real estate investments in the economic of the Czech Republic and other Central and Eastern European countries. Very important sector is the general Chinese imperative of the One Belt, One Road Policy.
