November 2016 - On 21 November, Kinstellar and PwC, together with the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, held a joint seminar on corruption related investigations, the latest industry and government enforcement updates and other hot anti-corruption topics.
Bogdan Bibicu, Partner in Kinstellar’s Bucharest office and the head of the firm’s local compliance, risk and sensitive investigations practice area was joined onstage by Warren Feldman, Partner in the New York office of Skadden, Ana Sebov, Director of PwC’s Bucharest office, and Anthony Grimaldi, Director of PwC’s New York office. The presenters discussed various topics of interest for corporates and executives, including the impact of and the relationship between local and global anticorruption investigations, international angles to be considered in corruption related matters, differences in reporting practices, criminal liability of corporates, internal investigations and compliance monitoring.
Bogdan Bibicu spoke about the anti-corruption laws, regulations and investigations in Romania, recent learning points and observations related to the activity of the National Anticorruption Prosecution Office (DNA), international cooperation in corruption cases and implications for companies, reporting requirements under Romanian law, criminal liability and other topical issues concerning anti-corruption and compliance in Romania.
Leading international country representatives including country managers, finance managers, compliance heads and legal counsels attended the conference to receive updates on the latest best practices in sensitive investigations.
