May 2017 - On April 25th Kinstellar’s Budapest office hosted a morning seminar on the topic of complying with laws against deceptive or misleading advertising for clients involved in the creation, placement and publication of advertisements.
Nowadays, nearly every company seeks to promote itself and its products in some way or another. Amid growing competition, the delivery of messages to buyers and business partners is becoming more and more important. At the same time, advertising is subject to a number of different laws, and various authorities are charged with monitoring compliance with the applicable laws and practice. An increasing number of fines are imposed on businesses as a result of non-compliance.
In his presentation, Péter Vörös, Partner and local head of Kinstellar’s Competition and Dispute Resolution practices, aimed to clarify what is lawful under Hungarian and EU law and summarised the most important practical information on how to reduce risks. Attendees also received valuable advice on best practices along with helpful examples.
