June 2017 - Mykyta Nota, Managing Associate in Kinstellar’s Kyiv office, spoke at the third annual Ukrainian Antitrust Forum, organised and hosted by Yuridicheskaya Practika publishing house with the support of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine. The Forum, which took place on 31 May 2017, brought together more than 160 experts, including senior Ukrainian and EU officials as well as representatives of the EU’s competition authorities, local and international business community.
As one of the most high-profile antitrust events in Ukraine, the Forum traditionally generates a vibrant discussion of the latest hot topics in the antitrust field, both locally and abroad. Speakers at this year’s event included officials from Ukraine’s competition authority, Parliament, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Ministry of Justice, and judges, as well as international experts from The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Lithuanian Competition Council, MAPP and other organisations.
Participants focused on the efficiency of the state competition authority to protect competition and discussed such issues as relevant international best practices, new competition regulations and enforcement trends, the role of economic analysis in competition cases, the elements of efficient antitrust compliance, and public procurement etc. As part of a panel discussion on the role of the courts in protecting competition, Mykyta Nota shared with the audience his expertise in the field of private enforcement of competition law from the angle of both local and cross-border disputes.
