Kinstellar Partner speaks at the European Nuclear Power Conference in London

June 2012 - Kinstellar Projects & Infrastructure Partner Kamil Blažek gave a presentation today at the European Nuclear Power Conference in London organised by Platts, the distinguished worldwide energy publishing house, on the topic of financing and structural considerations concerning the development of nuclear power plants in Emerging Europe.

The conference itself encompassed many interesting developments and discussions, including a presentation by Russia’s Rusatom on the potential for Russian investment in nuclear projects and a detailed outline of the Turkish NPP Project in Akkuyu and a presentation by Poland‘s PGE on developments in the Poland’s first-ever nuclear power plant project. Further interesting input concerned possibilities for using small modular nuclear reactors in Europe (as opposed to large NPP developments).

The panel of speakers included representatives of companies such as Westinghouse, Iberdrola, Areva, and GE Hitachi.

Kamil Blažek said: “We are proud to be able to present a Central and Eastern Europe regional view on what the current challenges and opportunities are in the financing of nuclear power plants at such distinguished European forum. We expect further NPP developments in Emerging Europe, including Hungary, Turkey, and of course the Czech Republic and Slovakia as well. I am optimistic about opportunities for developers, sponsors and consultants.”

Platts‘ 2012 European Nuclear Power conference aims to present all important issues and unite the international nuclear power community in its efforts to rebuild its reputation as a safe and secure energy source. The conference provides attendees with a comprehensive overview of the industry and its current strength, while providing unrivalled status reports from those nations that have been looking to re-establish nuclear power as a prominent part of their energy mix.
