October 2016 – Kinstellar’s Bucharest team has advised Nestlé on the Romanian law aspects of its joint venture with R&R Ice Cream, a leading UK-based ice cream producer owned by the French private equity fund, PAI Partners.
Under the deal, which was finalised at the end of September, the joint-venture partners have established Froneri, a new global ice cream and frozen food producer that combines the ice cream businesses of both joint-venture partners across Europe and the Middle East as well as other activities in Europe, Australia, the Philippines, South Africa, Argentina and Brazil. Headquartered in the UK, Froneri employs over 15,000 people and operates in over 20 countries. The new company is projected to generate annual revenue of EUR 2.6 billion.
The Kinstellar team handling the Romanian implications of the deal was led by Razvan Popa (Partner) and Zsuzsa Csiki (Managing Associate).
