Kinstellar hosts seminar in Prague to discuss new technology trends in the banking sector

May 2018 – Representatives of leading Czech banks and fintech start-ups met together with Czech and UK legal experts to discuss the development of technology in the banking sector at a seminar organised by Kinstellar in Prague.

Guest lawyers from London began the discussion with an overview of current developments in the UK, highlighting the changes brought by the EU’s Revised Payment Service Directive (PDS2) and the newly created markets for representation and warranty insurance.

Global insight on these topics was followed by a rundown of three technologies already present on the Czech market. Jakub Komenda, Head of Mobile Banking & Experience at MONETA Money Bank, introduced his bank’s agile model for new mobile banking services and its implementation. He was followed by Ondřej Knot, one of the founders of the Czech fintech firm Dateio, who described what financial institutions can obtain from client data. Local insight concluded with a presentation by Zdeněk Kučera, head of TMT and Litigation at Kinstellar Prague, on the legal implications of using computerised “chatbots” to provide information to clients.

"This seminar was a unique opportunity to discuss technology developments in the financial sector in the UK and to compare these with the specific solutions existing on the Czech market. We expect data and artificial intelligence to be the main drivers of the future in banking," noted Zdeněk
Kučera. "We are excited to be advising clients who are building the future of the industry.”
