Linklaters’ successor in CEE seeks its own identity (Czech Business Weekly)

November 2008 - The successor of the UK-based international law firm Linklaters in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), regional law firm Kinstellar, is launching operations in a troubled economic time. Even if the firm upholds continuity and top staff and service quality, competitors point out that the newcomer will need extra efforts to deal with the challenges of the Linklaters legacy. Kinstellar started to operate under its new name Nov. 1, 2008. In Prague, it stepped in the limelight Nov. 6 when it gathered business partners at an evening charity event held in the luxurious setting of Prague’s Rudolfinum. Regional law firm Kinstellar launches (The Budapest Sun)

Monday evening (Nov 3) saw the launch at the Hungarian State Opera House of what is being billed as the first law firm to "focus and specialize on the region." Kinstellar, which is based in Budapest, along with Bratislava, Bucharest, and Prague, has been spun off from UK-based "Magic Circle" law firm Linklaters, and is comprised of what were their offices and staff in the region. Csilla Andrékó, the managing partner of the Budapest firm, described a child growing up and moving away from the family home: the change naturally brings elements of doubt and pain for both sides, but she added that the "kids" knew they could always "rely" on the support of their parents, and said there was a natural desire to "out

The new identity of the Linklaters Central & Eastern European spin-off firm is unveiled today: Kinstellar. CEE spinoff 'Kinstellar' branding highlights close ties with Linklaters

Former Linklaters managing partner for CEE Jason Mogg will lead the new firm, which will have a close ­association with Linklaters. Mogg revealed that a branding company came up with the firm’s name, deriving Kinstellar from an anagram of Linklaters. “We didn’t set out to have an anagram but we liked the name. We wanted an Anglo-Saxon name,” he said. “We’re the legacy of an Anglo-Saxon firm and it does define who we are and what we’re doing. At the end of the day, the brand of a firm is an empty shell that we as lawyers have to fill.” The branding company put the name together using the word ‘kin’ to evoke a feeling of friendship, and ‘stellar’ to represent the firm’s big ambitions in
