Alexandru Dan is a Counsel in the Bucharest office, specializing in intellectual property, data privacy, IT and cybersecurity. His experience of over 10 years includes leading large international teams in complex projects and transactions.

Alexandru advises international and local companies on both established and emerging legal areas of digital business, on and around software, apps, IT services, cybersecurity, online presence, e-commerce, AI, copyright, trademarks, and data privacy. He has gained extensive experience assisting clients from various industries, such as software development, automotive, pharma, media and telecoms. He aims to help clients navigate regulatory challenges and harness emerging technologies.

Alexandru has been involved in landmark mass action claims, coordinating cross-jurisdictional teams in high-profile litigations and regulatory investigations.

He also provides strategic legal counsel on privacy and data protection, regulatory compliance and risk management, particularly in the implementation of GDPR frameworks and cybersecurity standards.

In the beginning of his career, Alexandru gained comprehensive knowledge in the area of real estate, assisting clients in all steps of real estate investments, from due diligence, transaction structuring, development and building to asset and facility management. He particularly focused on city planning and building permitting. In this area, Alexandru assisted major players in the retail, manufacturing, logistics, office and agricultural sectors.
