Mario Kijanović is a Managing Associate in the Belgrade office with over 10 years of specialized experience in real estate, construction, and planning. He has been a key member of legal teams on numerous major investment projects in Serbia, contributing to some of the country’s most significant real estate and infrastructure developments.

Mario remains deeply involved in a wide range of real estate matters on a daily basis and plays an active role in strengthening our Real Estate, Construction & Planning service line. 

His work primarily focuses on real estate, energy, project finance and construction, as well as corporate and tax matters. He has advised a diverse portfolio of clients—from public sector institutions to some of the world’s largest property developers and renewable energy project sponsors.

Mario’s expertise spans renewable energy projects, retail, commercial and industrial leasing, acquisitions and disposals, subdivisions, development projects, mixed‑use and residential schemes, agricultural land transactions, and complex capital and distressed asset deals.

Mario is also the President of the Infrastructure & Real Estate Committee within the Foreign Investors Council in Serbia, where he advocates for improving the investment climate and regulatory framework with the aim of attracting new investors and facilitating the investment process in Serbia.

• INTERNATIONAL HOTEL LICENSING (MARRIOTT) in connection with a high‑level due diligence exercise for a proposed St. Regis‑branded affiliate hotel in Belgrade, to be located within the landmark Belgrade Tower at the Belgrade Waterfront development
• SHANGHAI HUIZHONG AUTOMOTIVE MANUFACTURING on leasing a 19,000 sqm facility—with the possibility of a Phase 2 extension for an additional 11,000 sqm—to be constructed by CTP
• KADENA PROPERTIES, a reputable real estate development and investment management company, on establishing a joint venture for the development of a business and residential complex
• A1 SERBIA, the Serbian subsidiary of A1 Group—a leading global communications provider—on the acquisition of a strategically important greenfield site in Serbia intended for the development of a state‑of‑the‑art data centre
